"Hail the Gods! Hail the Goddesses!
Hail Earth that gives to all!
Goodly spells and speech we ask of you,
and healing hands, in this life."
-Sigdrifumál

*Asatru, also known as Heathenry, Odinism, Forn Sed (Old Custom) and Norse Tradition, is the indigenous, pre-Christian religious tradition of Scandinavia and Germany.  It honors the Gods and Goddesses, the spirits of the land, the ancestors and the Holy Earth.  While there are many groups with different practices and focuses, Asatru groups all work with the lore of the Eddas and Sagas as well as personal relationships with the deities and landspirits to inform their practices. The underlying beliefs of Heathenry embrace personal responsibility, honor, family, freedom, hospitality, courage, wisdom, fairness/justice and frith (peace/calm/diplomacy).
